Festive and fun Spritz Cookies! This classic Christmas cookie uses a cookie press to create beautifully designed cookies with ease.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ΒΎ cup granulated sugar
- Β½ teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 2ΒΌ cups all-purpose flour
Using grams for 1 serving:
- 226g unsalted butter
- 150g granulated sugar
- 293g all-purpose flour
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cream butter, salt, and sugar together in a stand mixer or with an electric whisk. Add the egg, almond extract, and vanilla until combined, then scrape down the bowl. If tinting the dough, mix in the food coloring now, then add the flour and mix until combined.
- Fill your cookie press and choose a pattern, then press cookies onto an unlined and ungreased baking sheet.
- You can decorate with sprinkles before or after baking. Bake at 350°F for about 8 minutes, or until the bottoms are just starting to turn golden.
